Team Hegdal is a fantastic creative, communicative and virtuoso Norwegian jazz quartet, playing the music of Eirik Hegdal (teacher at the Intl Jazz Platform 2021).
Hegdal is well known for his work with the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra
(especially for the cooperation with saxophonist Joshua Redman). Team Hegdal is his compositional playground for the small band format.

„Vol 5” is the first quartet release since „Vol 1” (2010), meaning „Vol 2-4” had all guest appearances, with eminent musicians such as Mattias Ståhl, Ola Kvernberg and Oscar Grönberg.
Now, André Roligheten (saxophones / bass clarinet), Ole Morten Vågan (double bass), Gard Nilssen (drums) and Eirik Hegdal (saxophones / clarinet) stand firmly alone.
Hegdal has an exquisite melodic and harmonious flair combined with a sometimes absurd humor. The genre boundaries are wide open; a bit from the Messiaen, a bit from Duke Ellington, constantly looking at the jazz history. Welcome into their toy box!
